What to Prepare for Your Mobile Notary Appointment

Use this checklist when arranging a PAPER & SIGN visit in Fayette, Coweta & Spalding Counties and South Metro Atlanta. Preparing the documents and meeting details early helps avoid an unnecessary trip or an appointment that cannot proceed.
  1. 1. Confirm what the receiving party requires

Ask the organization receiving your document which notarial act or certificate it requires. If the document has instructions, read them before requesting service. A notary cannot choose a legal document or make that legal decision for you. Resolve questions about the document's meaning with the issuing or receiving party or a licensed attorney.

  2. 2. Have the complete document ready

Bring the complete document and any instructions supplied with it. Check that you have all pages and attachments. Complete information only as the document's instructions direct, and ask before signing if you are unsure: some acts require a signature in the notary's presence, while other acts have different requirements. Do not assume that every document can be notarized in every circumstance.

  3. 3. Ask about identification before the visit

Have identification available and contact PAPER & SIGN before booking if you are uncertain whether it is acceptable for the requested act. Identification requirements depend on the circumstances and applicable law. If your usual ID is unavailable or your document and identification use different names, discuss the issue before anyone travels. Do not submit an identification number or a copy of your ID through the website form.

  4. 4. Coordinate every signer and any witnesses

Tell us how many people will participate so the appointment can be planned accurately. Confirm that the necessary signers will be available at the agreed time. Ask the issuing or receiving party whether witnesses are required and what instructions apply. Witness availability must be discussed in advance; do not assume the notary or the meeting facility will supply them.

  5. 5. Agree on a practical meeting location

Provide the appointment location and choose a place where the paperwork can be reviewed without unnecessary interruptions. Homes, offices, businesses, and other agreed locations may be suitable. For a healthcare facility or senior community, coordinate visitor approval, visiting hours, check-in, and the signer's schedule first. If access or availability changes, contact us before the appointment.

  6. 6. Arrange printing and scan-back in advance

If you need documents printed or scanned back after the appointment, include that request and an estimated page count. Ask for the appropriate document-delivery instructions rather than putting private document contents into the booking notes. Printing and scan-back charges are separate service items, and the receiving party may have requirements for returned documents or copies.

  7. 7. Review the total charges and confirmation

Review the notarial acts, travel, and any other requested service charges before the visit is confirmed. Distance, printing, waiting time, extended attendance, and selected appointment options may affect the total. A request or estimate does not reserve an appointment by itself. Keep the confirmation, agreed meeting time, and contact instructions available, and let us know promptly if your plans change.
